ALTITUDE
SIMULATION SYSTEM

ETC’s Altitude Simulation System is uniquely designed to accurately simulate high altitude conditions at the induction and exhaust manifolds of an Internal combustion engine. These systems can maintain altitude/pressure as the test engine operates over a wide range of changing RPM and throttle positions. The altitude simulation system is comprised of a combustion air supply system which provides air at precisely controlled temperature and humidity conditions, a vacuum blower and ETC’s proprietary altitude control valves which create the altitude condition and balance the engine intake and exhaust manifold pressures so there is virtually no difference. These systems are an easily adapted retrofit to existing chambers or test cells.

More cost-effective than high altitude simulation test chambers

ETC’s altitude simulation system is considerably more cost effective than the industry standard fully welded altitude chamber approach, as a result, OEM’s, heavy duty diesel manufacturer’s and the racing industry has moved to this means of altitude testing.

User-friendly and sophisticated control system

ETC’s controls system is a state-of-the-art, proprietary technology system for calculations, reporting and data collection. The application software package manages and maintains a database of UUT information including setpoints and profiles. The Allen Bradley PLC system is monitored by a PC in a supervisory fashion allowing real time control and safety interlocking of the test process as well as remote access for an ETC technician to troubleshoot or make tuning adjustments.
